If you’re satisfied your council member is already on your side

Why not contact your other representatives?   Everyone needs to be educated about bed bugs, so that they can participate in creating solutions!  When we call someone and they say they’ve never heard of bed bug problems in X community, you know that doesn’t mean that there are no bed bugs in that community.  It just means what they say: they’ve never heard of your bed bug problems.   It’s time to tell them:

  • You can find your representatives by typing in your address at this tool at the NYS Board of Elections. It has a map or a text-only interface. It works well and you get additional information about your community.
  • The New York TimesRepresent (beta) will show you your representatives’ recent activities and votes, but it may not give you contact links for all of them, so this one is probably not the only one you should use.
  • Then there is Find Your Representative at the League of Women Voters. Here you will find all the information and links you could wish for, including a local media guide, in case you’re moved to write a letter to the editor.

Thank you so much for trying to educate others about the bed bug problems in our city.
