A pest control company, Magic Exterminating, documents in this flickr set (slideshow) the condition of a NYC apartment where there are bed bugs.
It’s hard to say how I feel about viewing these photographs. Presumably, permission was obtained from the resident.
I confess to relief that the situation is being handled.

Rosa, do you live in NYC? And do you rent? Your landlord may be responsible for bed bug eradication under the law. Please check all the NYC resource links on our resources page for the law and tenant organizations. The first step is to notify the landlord. Should that not work, then you can call 311 to start a complaint process. The pest control company will give you instructions and most people need several treatments to control an infestation. The adjacent apartments have to be professionally inspected to ensure that the problem is not spreading or has spread to you from adjoining apartments.
Let me know if you need any information. Please also visit the bedbugger.com forums to interact with many people who are going through the same problem. (I suggest you read their FAQs first for helpful information.)
I don’t have bed bugs, but i think this is really a problem and you you are doing a good job, your info is very useful.
