Kussman, dated August 8, 2008, is interesting and may be helpful to the administrators of hospitals and outpatient facilities who are trying to formulate best practices. Under health conditions associated with bed bugs:
(2) Emotional Distress and Insomnia. Patients, who have experienced bed bug bites or a bed bug infestation, may be emotionally distressed because of prolonged reaction to the bites, discoloration or scarring, discomfort in the presence of insects, or the social stigma associated with infestations. Distress can lead to an inability to fall or remain asleep, agitation and nervousness.
Indeed.
There are some specific recommendations for the handling of rooms suspected to be infested, inpatient and outpatient scenarios, etc.
It would be helpful if some government body facilitated the centralized dissemination of these resources that I imagine every local, state and federal agency, not to mention private entities, are now required to create, but I suppose no such thing is possible.
