Bed bug bites from what I have been reading can appear a long time after being bitten. Bed bugs can live many many months, some even over a year without food so you need to get someone to get rid of your bug problem and check out all of your houses unless you dont feal like going home for 2 years.

I'm sorry for your experience. You should get a good bed bug professional to inspect both your homes.

While bite reactions appearing later may be delayed reactions, you also need to make sure that you didn't bring any hitchhikers.

Do not do anything with your mattress until you get a professional evaluation. Throwing out the mattress will likely not solve your problem (because that's not the only place they can be) and will likely spread bed bugs.

You can get more advice and suggestions by reading the bedbugger faqs and visiting the forum.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to write what has happened to me, but I have found no other.
I was bitten by bed bugs this past weekend, confirmed by two doctors.
This happened in my shore house yet new bites are showing up two days after I left. Is this common?
What do I do about the mattress?
