That is a direct quote from the article -- which you can read here: http://www.mypmp-digital.com/pmpdigital/200905/?pg=24#pg28

Maybe you should contact Dr. Romero, Paul, and get access to the data? I note the label rate for MotherEarth D, according to the label PDF, is

[...] in the range of 0.15 - 0.6 oz/10 ft2 or 1 - 5 oz/100ft2.

I'll leave the surface area conversions to you.

Best wishes.

Spraying stuff willy-nilly will not help. Bedbugs are resistant to a lot of pesticides and the over the counter stuff is not very effective. And there is no evidence that mint leaves will help either. I'm sorry about the bedbug, Yvonne. If you can get a competent professional to come in, your problem may be solved more quickly.

Please consult the health department in your town or county, Hector. Or try getting a reputable pest management professional referral -- there are good ones who can do a thorough inspection and treat safely, plus save you money in the long run. They will not be inexpensive in the short term. Slowing-down this process will not be helpful. Bedbugs quickly get worse.

I have a two family house in paterson, NJ , both unit are rented. One of the unit is rented to a very problematic tenant. Recently she told me that there is bed bug in the apartment, however, I have plenty reason to believe that she is using that as an excuse to refused to move (because she does not want to bring bed bug to another apartment). I understand that I am obligated to call for an exterminator, however, no exterminator will say that there is no bed bug, even there isn't any, they will always says there are because they do not want to do the inspection for free. I want to know if there is any public department that will go and do the inspection free.

After reading your article above I have a question:

The article states that 200 mg per cm2 of dust were applied for purposes of the trials conducted. Are you cetain that this was the correct quantity of dust applied during these tests? If you take a quick look at the area and the dosage, this is a lot of dust to be applied on that given area. Please advise, thanks ! paul b.

I have been using the thermal remediation system from Temp Air for 13-months. I have performed 143 heat treatments. Everything from apartments to 8000 square foot homes. We have had 100% success with no re-treatments. We offer a one year warranty with a deductible and bed bug insurance after that. I have studied many other options and found that this was by far the safest and most effective. We maintain lethal temps for 6-hours. We use the wireless sensors but also use a Fluke thermal imager to ensure we find all cool spots. I once found 3-bed bugs under a coaster under a couch with the thermal imager. It's pricey but doesn't lie.I have been able to solve many peoples bed bug issues and that makes it worth wild. we currently charge about $2/sf. It's a lot of work. No short cuts with this treatment. Long days but you can't argue with the results. I hope everyone adjusts as much to heat as the bed bugs have to chemical treatments.

I really resent that fact that everyone blames landlords and management companies, I own a 6 family unit, and I have told my tenants that I will pay for the sprays and chemicals allowed to decrease and rid the infestation for the first and second time, but after that, I feel that a little responsibility should come from the tenants themselves. The laws favor tenants and that leaves some of us good owners powerless against tenants that don't give a damn about the cost to us. It is very typical of the self centered entitlement clause. People want everything given to them for free, when the cable is out they call the owner, when the power fails they don't lodge complaints about con edison, when the water pressure is low they don't call 311 and tell the people on the street to close the fire hydrant, so now people are carrying bed bugs from place to place and they want someone else to pay for it.
NO body cares about us, I give my tenants plastic bags, I spray, if they tell me that they will not be home for the weekend I am willing to go in and spray and smoke the place, but people find that an invasion of their privacy. People want the bed bugs and money for living with the bed bugs, people do not really want to solve the problem- but hey is that not the new America- yell at me all you want, I will just hit delete- I know in my heart I am right
